Our Mother never said NO!
Not even maybe or
I told you so
I could go on down the list
but I don’t think
there is any variation of NO
that I have missed
No finger wagging poking or jabbing
Our Mother never did say NO!
I never heard say “Don’t do that today”
Because our mother NEVER said NO!
Or at least I don’t think so
My brother would have NEVER put
corn in his ears or raisins in my nose
(Oh off to the ENT doctor we go)
Our mother just never ever said NO!
Or maybe I just didn’t hear her
But I just don’t think so
She was probably just having just
too much fun to say NO!
And then we would have had to sit
in the corner for the rest of our lives.
