the moon rises
it picks up colors
from the sunset
and carries them into the
night time sky

I was masquerading as some peppermint
(Don’t worry this is merely in my mind.
It may be a strange occurence for you, but
for me things like this happen all the time)
There I was dressed like peppermint
Swirling round and round
Salad spinner type spinning for those of
you who don’t quite have the picture yet
A second ago I was growing with
my feet firmly planted in the ground
Then a sneaking suspicion overcame me,
as I was going round and round,
that
Yours Truly was going to be put into
salad of Cauliflower Tabouli
Thank you Chef
A least I wasn’t dizzy anymore.
Not sure
where I left off with you
but here I am
back again
ready to talk to you
my friend
so just let me know
when you want to ramble on
and we will share
and linger long
or short
as the case might be
There are somethings
that are missing
and will never be
found
when things are happening
that are upside in and outside down
and no one is remembering
what is a smile and what is a frown
there is no connection
except what is on your phone
you can’t look up
when you are walking,
always walking,
looking down
slipping out
into the open night’s air
looking up
seeing stars everywhere
breathing the cold fresh air
Hestiating as memories
are brought forth
into the meaning of today
Looking at these thoughts
thinking better of it
Putting them away
better to stay here
keeping today
as today
Moving forward is better
that way
Listening as the
lizards dart
through
the crackling, rustling grasses
Watching as their tails
disappear
Oh yes we have met before
Over bald heads
questions, directions and
tea
What is the story
Words passed
Apologies offered
What is the story?
There is always a story
You just have to ask me
Miss Birdseed Times of
Nahariya
Walking quickly in the
coolness of the day
Wondering how long it is
going to stay this way
Breathing deeply
Savoring the air
Looking for flashes of color
everywhere
Her eye looks over
but
It is gone
before she can grasp it
or see
where it goes or
what it was supposed to be
