Little lost mitten
lying on the ground
waiting for the other
one to come back around

“Oh you are lost!”
“Come home with me,
now that you’ve been found”

But not having had chance to meet a
lost mitten that talks

it is a little hard to say
what is thought about

in the passing of a
day.

Kissing grandsons
Is done best if they are asleep
Sneaking up the steps quietly and
Swiftly just to take a peek
then softly swooping,
land a kiss on the the left cheek then the right
then circling back to take a look
gently planting another one
just like the first

Just remember in order for this to be done right
It has to be done at night
When no one else is looking
No one else in sight

Waiting for the rain
So I can wear my yellow rain coat
And wander on the beach
waving to the fishermen
casting their nets to the sea

The waking of the morning
The scattering of the darkness
of the atmosphere’s never changing
heaviness
Standing still
Listening

Breathing slowly
Quietly

There once was a little girl
who had caterpillars on her head
she didn’t think they were caterpillars
or at least that is what she said
until much to her surprise one day
they turned into BUTTERFLIES
and flew away

So what is really true
about this story is really
hard to say
But you COULD but only if you
WANTED
Put caterpillars on your head
to see if they might consider
it a likely place to stay

but only if you wanted
