Looking Up

Looking up
catching the rain
Mouth open wide
as wide as the Sky
Hoping to feel
the rain on my
face and in my
eyes
Waiting for the puddles
that gather in my socks
that cover my ankles
way below my knees
Waiting for the rain to
come and the wind to
bring it here
please

My Dad

My Dad has been looking a little
funny for the past couple of days
I am really not sure I am comfortable
with him looking at me that way
My husband says it is the wind that
gives a tilt to his frame
But I think it is the dusting I did
to his picture the other day is
to blame

Stream

I work my stream of consciousness
like a river flowing throught the woods
thinking of all the things
that pass me by
like seeds of the dandelion floating
in the air
the undercurrent of things
connecting here and there

Wake Up Mornings

It was one of those wake up
mornings
When sleeping was not so long
And there was some wondering
if going back to sleep
would life still go
It did
And the honking and the music
was stil there and not gone
So I guess it doesn’t matter if
I sleep so long

His Eyes

His eyes
just popped out of his head
like buttons falling off
a white shirt
in a
slow motion
esoteric
roll and tumble
The audience gasped in surprise
as they popped back in
again
and then I woke up
